New Feature: Preview tool updates & SPA support

This release focuses mainly on improvements to the preview tool that allows you to set a module to be inactive, but still be able to see it in action when you use the preview tool.

It's a great way to make things are ship shape before going live with a new module.

Tips added by the the Visualizer tool are now much better supported on SPA's (Single Page Apps), we watch the page for changes and add in any tips / links that match the new page content. Bring on the dynamic content!

We've also tweaked the UI in the backend, to keep things clean. If you're looking for menu items that were once in the bottom left, they're now tucked away in a popout menu in the top right.

New Features

  • Added ability to directly open an incident report through code

  • The preview tool now supports unpublished modules, so you can test modules before going live.

  • Added support for adding / removing contextual links when page content updates (for SPA's)

Updates

  • Added timestamps to status page incidents list

  • Better breakdown and visibility for status page incident details page.

  • On exiting Visualizer mode, you're now taken to the page you were just on, but in regular mode.

  • All menu items in your widget have a specific ID applied when displaying, so you can target with CSS

  • Backend design updates, your main settings / billing / docs are now located top right

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where contextual links wouldn't work on elements that already had JS click events applied

  • Added a range of XSS security fixes

  • Fixed an issue with some setting loader sometimes throwing a pesky error

  • Fixed up some styling issues with main headings not clearing their background color.

New Feature: Introducing the elevio visualizer tool

We're pretty excited about this feature.

In your account, you now have access to what we're calling 'The Visualizer'.

The visualizer is a tool that allows you to add a contextual link to any element on your site using a simple point and click tool.
The links you create will interact with elevio to open a specific article or module.

Best part is, anybody in your team can now add tips in seconds, without having to touch a line of code!

Here's an example of an admin using the envisage tool to add a tooltip to an element on their site.

Just click on what you want to add a tip to, and pick what you want to show, and save. Easy.

Pretty awesome, right?

We're really looking forward to your feedback and hope you love it as much as we do!

Try the visualizer tool now

Update: Empty search results

When people search through your articles, previously if there was no results it would show them nothing at all.

Now, they'll be shown a small message letting them know there's no results, along with a button to go back to the full article listing.
